Alifi Rehanun Nisya

Alifi is Biodiversity Supervisor at Forum Konservasi Leuser (FKL) in Aceh, Indonesia.
She’s passionate about her work and always keen to take on new challenges.​ Alifi’s Bachelor's of Science thesis was dedicated to “Structure of Landscape Ecology
Changes and Effects on Pongo Abeli (Orangutan Sumatera) Habitat in part of the
Leuser Ecosystem in Aceh Tamiang Regency”. Alifi received a Bachelor Of Science
in Environmental Geography from Gadjah Mada University Yogyakarta where she
studied wildlife habitat ecology. She has been working for FKL since receiving
her bachelor's degree in 2017.  

2019 brought Alifi closer to wildlife data and she fell in love with the Sumatran
elephant. In the same year, Alifi received a scholarship for a short mentoring program
called “She Creates Change” by Change.Org.id and launched a petition to raise
awareness about elephant deaths in Indonesia (change.org/JanganJeratGajah). She
is currently leading a project and representing FKL regarding the Sumatran Elephant,
Spatial Planning, and High Conservation Value/High Carbon Stock Assessments in
Leuser.
