Daniel Cole

Daniel is currently the manager of The Napatree Point Conservation Area in Westerly, RI. In this role, he works with a team of science advisors to implement science-based stewardship on the barrier beach. Additionally, he connects the conservation work with the community through outreach and education programs. Before his current position, Daniel worked for The Nature Conservancy in Florida. There, he managed an 11,500-acre preserve and focused on creating a welcoming environment to connect the stewardship of the conservation landscape with the local community, out-of-state visitors, and international guests.

Daniel has held various positions in the conservation field after starting his career as a secondary education teacher. Throughout his professional journey, he has maintained his passion for teaching and has mentored high school and college students through various internship programs. Daniel studied Biology at Long Island University's Southampton College, and his love for the outdoors developed during his childhood in upstate New York.
