Julia Granfors

Julia is a Program Specialist at the National Geographic Society in Washington, D.C. where she supports a diverse portfolio of wildlife-focused projects within the Science and Innovation division. In this role, she works with a wide range of National Geographic Explorers, internal cross-divisional teams, and key partner organizations to strategically support the programmatic priorities of the National Geographic Society. Julia received a Bachelor of Science in Environmental Science and Resource Management from the University of Washington and a Master of Science in Conservation Leadership from Colorado State University where she studied the socio-economic impacts of mountain gorilla tourism in Rwanda. In her free time, Julia enjoys hiking, camping, and exploring the outdoors with her dog.
